Ed Burley Dimestore soldiers

Ed Burley began producing Dimestore reproductions and molds for collectors in 1984. It was just a hobby to begin with but evolved into a full time job. He produced over 200 different reproductions in solid castings, over 50 different Original Dimestore Conversions and a dozen different Dimestore Bands. Ed also made beautiful 54mm Bands, Flag Bearers and marching troops. Parade figures in colorful dress uniforms highly detailed are sold individually or in boxed sets. For several years Ed had been making molds for G-M-G,(German Modeling Group). The owner returned to Germany and went out of business and Ed made over 82 different German soldiers fashioned after Lineol figures in their place.
For several years the hobby took a back seat to Ed's sign painting business, but in 1992, Ed began working full time on soldiers, but now at 74, Ed is retired from making Dimestore figures and molds. Ed worked alone, from making the molds, casting the figures, assembly, clean up and painting.

Subject: Lou Steinberg Alerted me

Hello Mr. Hopson,

Lou Steinberg, and old acquaintance and Customer of mine,
told me about your site. (scorcherxxx) and told me your name.
I took a look and sent you an e-mail message. I have your name now.
I can send you pictures of my figures if you wish. I'm not looking for business,I'm 74 and slowing way down. I still do work for old customers and I can still see pretty good, my hands aren't shaky, but I get tired and can't work the hours into the night like I used too when I was attending shows.
It pleases me that some of my work is circulating so Thank you for including me on your site. The description you have on me, I wrote for O'brien as he was working on one of his books.
