JAPAN produced a wide range of Dimestore figures in both the pre and post war eras. These figures were made in every medium available, such as bisque, celluloid, ceramic, composition, hollowcast and solid cast lead as well as pot metals. They can be found as single figures or in boxed sets, from 22mm to 3 inches tall. Some of the most collectible are the Barclay and Manoil copies. Japan never produced these figures for their domestic market, they were produced for export only, mainly to the United States, but some did find their way to European markets. I have researched all of the known Japanese companies and information is hard to come by. My main source of information has been the hundreds of boxed sets and thousands of loose figures I have bought and sold over my collecting years, finally have a good accounting of their production. As with all the other categories, I encourage fellow collectors to forward any additional information they have to fill in any blanks.
